Decisions about Supabase

Here are some stack decisions, common use cases and reviews by companies and developers who chose Supabase in their tech stack.

Hello,

I'm in the midst of reviewing an old CRUD SAAS I have running on Angular 7 with a MariaDB backend and Laravel PHP. Presently is hosted on a couple of Linode servers- and really feeling the weight, especially with the looming need to upgrade to A15 and meet the pace and scalability occurring (for context, the SAAS turns in over 24k USD monthly in subscriptions- so I have concerns around the impact of a new stack on existing clients). Additionally, I manage a Kotlin and Swift codebase for appdev.

I'm looking at moving towards Flutter for a singular codebase, and something serverless but still relational- like Supabase. In the past, I ran my own Auth services- but it was a ton of work to setup and maintain, so looking at using Firebase for Auth services (I know Supabase has Auth as well, but I wonder if it's as reliable and frequently maintained as Firebase?) Supabase has a FlutterSDK as well which makes things much simpler. Planning on maintaining microservices like Stripe etc for functional aspects.

I would love some insight from those who have done a tech stack transition, what should I be aware of- those who have produced in Flutter or a similar stack, what am I walking into without knowing?

Who uses Vite? I’m trying it with React, it obviously is less data and compiles fast, BUT, is it a good idea? I’m using it with Supabase.

Quasar FrameworkQuasar Framework

The only two programming languages I know are Python and Dart, I fall in love with Dart when I learned about the type safeness, ease of refactoring, and the help of the IDE. I have an idea for an app, a simple app, but I need SEO and server rendering, and I also want it to be available on all platforms. I can't use Flutter or Dart anymore because of that. I have been searching and looks like there is no way to avoid learning HTML and CSS for this. I want to use Supabase as BASS, at the moment I think that I have two options if I want to learn the least amount of things because of my lack of time available:

  1. Quasar Framework: They claim that I can do all the things I need, but I have to use JavaScript, and I am going to have all those bugs with a type-safe programming language avoidable. I guess I can use TypeScript?, but that means learning both, and I am not sure if I will be able to use 100% Typescript. Besides Vue.js, Node.js, etc.

  2. Blazor and .NET: There is MAUI with razor bindings in .Net now, and also a Blazor server. And as far as I can see, the transition from Dart to C# will be easy. I guess that I have to learn some Javascript here and there, but I have to less things I guess, am I wrong? But Blazor is a new technology, Vue is widely used.

Supabase Alternatives & Comparisons

What are some alternatives to Supabase?
Firebase
Firebase is a cloud service designed to power real-time, collaborative applications. Simply add the Firebase library to your application to gain access to a shared data structure; any changes you make to that data are automatically synchronized with the Firebase cloud and with other clients within milliseconds.
JavaScript
JavaScript is most known as the scripting language for Web pages, but used in many non-browser environments as well such as node.js or Apache CouchDB. It is a prototype-based, multi-paradigm scripting language that is dynamic, and supports object-oriented, imperative, and functional programming styles.
Git
Git is a free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.
