As part of this, we’re announcing three new products built with the new file format 👇 First, in collaboration with Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), we’re excited to introduce techstack.yml. It’s a new data format that goes beyond open source dependencies and lists closed source, SaaS, infrastructure, and other technologies being used in a codebase. And best of all, it’s auto-generated through the new Stack File GitHub App ✨ With a few clicks, you can get techstack.yml files generated for all your Git repos, along with a Markdown visualization for each file. We’re also announcing StackShare AI 🤖 - which will allow you to query the entire knowledge base of our 1M+ developer community and get personalized results by connecting your techstack.yml files. Soon you'll be able to use your tech stack files to understand redundancies, generate reports, and ask questions like “who are the top React experts across the company?” And finally, we’re announcing StackShare Connect 🤝 which will allow teams to take their tech stack data with them by connecting their techstack.yml files to the websites and apps they already use to make them stack-aware. StackShare Connect’s first partner is FOSSA. StackShare customers will be able to connect their tech stack files to their FOSSA accounts to easily generate comprehensive dependency inventory and audit-grade reports and institute sophisticated policy governance. Stack File, StackShare AI, and StackShare Connect are all built using techstack.yml, which will soon become a universal standard for organizing, visualizing, and sharing tech stack data.
